We love music and grew up listening to The Rolling Stones, referred to as the Stones unless you want your friends to tease you, or maybe you were born this century and don’t know better. Either way, we are excited that the Stones have made a studio album, the first one in many years.
Rolling Stone magazine’s review has to excite all fans. On Oct 20th the album will be released and you can listen yourself and decide if you agree that with the review that “It’s 2023 and The Rolling Stones Have Made a Record You”ll Want to Play More Than Once – Seriously.”
61 Years since they started, The Rolling Stones are still making new music, and after listening to “Angry” and “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” we can’t wait to hear the whole album. “Angry” rocks like the Stones we love and “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” is eerily appropriate for these days of the Hamas/Israel war.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood welcome back Bill Wyman on bass, and there are two songs with Charlie Watts on the drums… they were recorded before Charlie Watts passed. . . lest you think AI did the drumming in Watts style…Special guests on “Hackney Diamonds” include Paul McCartney, Elton John, Lady Gaga and Stevie Wonder…we love them all …if only they included Taylor Swift…maybe next time.
So we thought Hackney Diamonds must mean something and we were right… it is London slang for the shattered glass left behind after burglars have smashed a window to break in, Hackney being an inner-city area of London associated with a high crime rate. Interesting choice of title.

Ronnie Wood, lead guitarist, temporarily joined the Stones in 1975, and became an official member in 1976, but did not become an official financial partner until 1993, when bassist Bill Wyman left the band. After 48 years, many people wouldn’t know he wasn’t a founding member…real longtime fans know, but do you???
Ronnie Woods, a multi-instrumentalist, adds slide guitar, pedal steel and lap steel guitar to the Stones on and off the stage. In addition, he and Richards exchanged lead and rhythm guitar, sometimes in the midst of a song. There is nothing great guitarists like more than playing guitar with another great guitarist…it’s a conversation between guitars that adds excitement to a live show.
Ronnie played with the Stones since 1975, and over the years he has maintained The Ronnie Wood Band as well as playing with many well known artists and bands over the years.

In 2003, Mick Jagger was knighted for his services to popular music… Sir Michael Philip Jagger.
Jagger has eight children with five women. He also has five grandchildren, and became a great-grandfather on 19 May 2014.
The Stones Hot Lips Logo is one of the most iconic logos of all time. Jagger suggested the tongue of the Hindu Goddesses Kali…he commissioned an art student John Pasche to create the logo… “The design concept for the tongue was to represent the band’s anti-authoritarian attitude, Mick’s mouth and the obvious sexual connotations.
Over the years others worked on the Logo….but the basic Lips and Tongue endured.
